Ogun to release more funds for completion of capital projects

The Ogun State Government is set to release funds to contractors towards the speedy completion of ongoing capital projects in the state.

This was part of resolution arrived at during the weekly state Executive Council Meeting held yesterday.

Briefing news men after the meeting, Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Wale Osinowo said in the regards, the government is also seeking budget support of the World Bank.

At the briefing, also attended by is counterparts, Ms. Adenrele Adesina (Budget), Otunba Adedayo Adeneye (Information and Strategy) and Mrs. Adepeju Adebajo (Agriculture), Osinowo stated that it was resolved that there should be a constant monitoring of the execution of the projects.

According to him, towards this end, monitoring gangs, comprising commissioners, special advisers, permanent secretaries among others, have been directed to intensify the monitoring exercise, to achieve the desired objective.

The commissioner added that the Council is committed towards ensuring that no project is left uncompleted.

On 2017 Ojude Oba festival, the Council expressed satisfaction with its success, assuring that the state government would continue to support and promote cultural activities in the state.
