Encomium
Oloori Oladunni Sijuwade, the lawyer and beautiful wife of His Royal Majesty, Oba Okunade Sijuwade Olubuse II, the Ooni of Ife, is now an orphan. Exactly three years after losing her father, Chief Harold Sodipe, she lost her mother too.
While her father died on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at 90, her mother died on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at the ripe age of 92.
Oloori Ladun, no doubt, was very close to her mother by virtue of the fact that she is the only daughter of her mother’s three children and she was her confidant too. This explained the thrust of her text message to her friends and well wishers on the death of her mother. She wrote:
‘My mom and best friend, Mrs. Flora Olamide Harold-Sodipo slept in the Lord on July 24, 2014. Burial arrangement will be announced. Oloori Ladu Sijuwade.”
Mama’s other two children are Dapo Harold Sodipo and Bayo Harold Sodipo.
