Omisore Confirms Support From Osun Workers And Residents

‘Yes, they have realized that PDP is the only saviour now’

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flag bearer in the last gubernatorial election in Osun state, Otunba Iyiola Omisore has confirmed enjoying robust support from the people of the state now, especially workers ahead 2018 governorship election in the state. He stressed that the development is not a surprise on account of the hardship residents of the state are experiencing from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, via his media aide, who also doubles as PDP spokesman, Mr. Diran Odeyemi, the engineer turned politician expressed satisfaction about the development. He, however, commended the people of 0sun state for identifying with the PDP at this crucial stage of the state.

“Yes, it’s a welcome development. I am happy about it. I commend the workers of Osun state and the entire indigenes of the state for identifying with us now.

“It’s always good to experiment with some things, then, you draw your conclusion. The Osun people have realized now that PDP is the only saviour they have and Otunba Iyiola Omisore is the candidate of their choice. And come 2018, PDP will reclaim its power both here in Osun state and at the centre. Nigerians, generally, are tired of the pains APC has brought to their lives”

Meanwhile, a very reliable source hinted ENCOMIUM Weekly earlier that some workers and residents of Osun, the Home of The Living Spring, have tilted to the side of PDP in the state. Not only that, they have also started a kind of underground house to house campaign with a view to kicking out the APC from Abere, the state’s seat of power come 2018.

“Workers and majority of people in Osun state are bitter now about the way Aregbesola is ruling the state. And that has jeopardized APC chance in both the governorship election slated for 2018 and the general elections  in 2019. They are very angry with Aregbesola at the moment. And the current economic situation, coupled with the lingering fuel scarcity in the country have also aggravated their fury against the APC.

So, with the situation of things right now in Osun, APC will surely find it difficult to convince the electorate in any election in the state. We can all see what has happened in Ife Central Constituency bye-election where the APC was beaten even by Accord Party. It’s a very bad signal for the party.

“Now, I learnt some aggrieved residents and workers of the state have started secret campaign for Omisore and the coming back of PDP in the state.”
