Omission of some celebs in Lagos @ 50 portraits causes uproar

As the state designated as Centre of Excellence, Lagos, is warming up for the celebration of its 50th anniversary and portraits of some A-list celebrities and other eminent personalities decorate the major roads in the state, some Lagosians are not satisfied with the list of the faces on the bill boards as they argued that there are some other famous people who are also qualified to be included, but were not among those displayed now either by error of omission or an oversight.
Some Lagos residents encomium.ng spoke to on this poured out their minds, arguing that the list of the entertainers is outrightly incomplete without some entertainment big wigs who had contributed immensely to the growth and development of entertainment in the state and Nigeria as a whole. Some of the celebs expected to be included are, Evangelist Ebenezer Obey. General Killington Ayinla, Queen Ayo Balogun, Sir Shina Peters, Obesere, Wizkid, Onyeka Nwenu, Kunle Afolayan, Omotola Jalade, Genevieve Nnaji, Jide Kosoko, Wale Adenuga and others.
One of the people we spoke to said, “I disagree with organisers of Lagos at 50  for not including some names among the people they recognised. Although, it may be an oversight, it’s not too late to adjust. Personally, I don’t know why  the likes of Chief Ebenezer Obey was not there despite his fame and contribution to the music industry. He is still relevant and with a lot of success stories as a Lagos based entertainer, a living legend for that matter. To me, it’s unfair. Even, Sir Shina Peters also merits it no matter the criteria used. I am a juju fan, it’s not only KSA that’s in that genre, we still have the president, Queen Ayo Balogun. She is also supposed to be on the list and perhaps few others. I think they need to do something fast on it.”
Another pundit, Yemi Lawal also complained, especially about those that were picked from Fuji genre, arguing that the calibre of people like Kollington Ayinla, Obesere should be honoured alongside K1, Adewale Ayuba and Pasuma. “There is no justification leaving them out because they all have their success stories to tell,” he stated.
Also, another Lagosian, Olu Alfred said, “In my observation, those who compiled the list are biased or may be another set of celebrities are still on the way. However, I believe many people are also criticizing the list. Left to me, a lot of people are still qualified from different sectors. The array of people that I think should make the list include  Dr. Mike Adenuga, Femi Kuti, Kunle Afolayan, Taye Taiwo, Obafemi Martins…
