Ooni goes intoseclusion as Olojo Festival holds Sept. 29

The preparations for the most popular festival in Ile-Ife, Olojo, are now in a top gear as many illustrous sons and daughters of the ancient kingdom are equally warming up to be part of the historic festival, encomium.ng reveals authoritatively.
As part of the preparations for the annual cultural carnival, the Onni of IIe, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja 2) will be in seclusion for 14 days – the journey he will proceed on by tommorrow, Thursday, September 14, 2017, during which he’s expected to complete some rituals and rites in line with the dictates of Ife tradition. After which the Oonirisa, as the influential oba is fondly addressed, will be out in his signature attire (white) to celebrate with his people and guests from different parts of the world. The event which holds on Friday, September 29, 2017, promises to be very colourful as usual.
However, this year’s celebration will, no doubt,  be incomplete as Olori Wuraola, estranged wife of Ooni Ogunwusi, will be conspicuously absent as the wound in her marriage to the imperial royal majesty is yet to heal.
A palace source who spoke to encomium.ng under the condition of anonymity said, “The whole of the people of Ife kingom are preparing for Olojo festival now. A lot of  the natives home and abroad will gather at Ile Oodua on Friday, September 29, 2017, for the annual event. It’s the most important festival in the history of Ife, the cradle of the Yoruba. The festival will feature a lot of cultural segments with exciting performances. It will surely be very glamorious as usual.”
