‘Our wishes for Nigeria before October 1, 2016’

Since Nigeria celebrated its 55th independence anniversary on Thursday, October 1, 2015, Nigerians home and abroad have been wishing their fatherland a lot of good against October 1, 2016. Some Nigerians ENCOMIUM Weekly also spoke to joined the chorus.

Babalola Olaniyi

We give thanks to God for sparing our lives to be part of this year’s independence anniversary celebration, despite all the security challenges here and there. Before Nigeria’s 56th independence anniversary next year, I want to see a more united and peaceful Nigeria. A Nigeria that will be able to provide adequately for its citizens in all aspects of life.

Mary Fatunde

Nigeria’s 55th independence anniversary has come and gone, the lesson of it all is that the era of wasteful spending is gone. I believe we should all give the present administration kudos for that. However, it also reminds us of the fact that the economy is in a very difficult situation which has affected a lot of things in the country.

So, before Nigeria celebrates its 56th independence anniversary next year, I believe we should have succeeded in the anti-corruption crusade and battle against Boko Haram insurgency.

Ibrahim Salawu

We thank God for being alive as Nigeria clocked 55 this year. Before the next independence anniversary, I wish the country the best in all aspects, especially economy, security, education, infrastructure and health sectors.

With the way things are going now, I believe we can attain greater heights in all aforementioned areas. We can’t afford to remain on the same spot, we must move forward.

Ronke Adeboye

By the next independence, I hope Nigeria would have gotten better, life made easier, food cheaper. Generally I hope for a better Nigeria.

Feyisayo Ajala

By the next independence, I hope Nigeria would have gotten rid of all her corrupt leaders. I hope the change we voted for would have taken full effect.
