The Ile Oodua (Ooni’s palace) has refused to make a statement on the tale hovering that the bride price of the estranged Olori Wuraola Zynab Otiti has been returned by her family.
All efforts by encomium.ng to get Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi’s reaction via his spokesperson, Mr Moses Olafare, proved abortive as all the calls put through to his mobile line were ignored. We also sent him a text, and all were not responded to. We also put in similar efforts to get across to Olori Wuraola to no avail.
Meanwhile, tale bearers had insisted the family of the Edo beauty had a couple of days back returned the traditional price paid by the Ogunwusis.
However, as it has become obvious that things have fallen apart between the widely celebrated couple and centre seems not to hold again, hence the rumoured decision by the Obanors (Wuraola’s family) to return the dowry in line with Benin tradition.
On Saturday, March 12, 2017, a colourful wedding held at Benin, Edo palatial home of the Obanors where Kabiyesi’s father, Baba Oba Ropo Ogunwusi paid the bride price and Olori Wuraola was handed over to him by the family amid fanfare. Not knowing that the journey of the royal union won’t last beyond 16 months before it ended on account of undisclosed irreconcilable differences.
However, the public was beclouded as to whether the marriage had actually crashed when the news broke until a few days back when the estranged Olori finally opened up via her Instagram handle that her marriage to the popular monarch has hit brickwall. Not only that, the Edo born princess also reverted to her maiden name.
The decision of Wuraola to move on has since been greeted by a lot of controversies as many believed it’s a taboo for her to dump the powerful monarch unless she undergoes spiritual cleansing, while others insisted the estranged Olori can move on without necessarily going through any rituals or spiritual purification as emphasised by Ifa priest, Chief Yemi Elebuibon.
