Parents and guardians brace up as school resumes

‘OUR HOPE IS IN GOD’

As students resume for another term, parents and guardians have been bemoaning the challenges of maintaining their children and wards in both private and government schools.

Many of whom admitted it has not been easy for them, however, handed their fate to God Almighty, believing He will always see them through.

MRS. HAFSAT FADIPE

They are already back in school after some weeks of Xmas and New Year holiday. As usual, before resumption there were a lot of items we bought for them, some of which will be needed in school. It is always a routine every January.

It was not easy at all, especially when we just had a festive season and we had spent so much.

MR. BABATUNDE OGUNDEYI

As usual, the children need new books, writing materials and in some cases uniforms and new bags. We must provide all these as they returned to school. It is what we as parents must provide. It hasn’t been easy because things are hard.

MRS. FUNKE JOSHUA

We have no choice than to prepare. We thank God for sparing our lives. God is sufficient. I have only one child for now by God’s grace, we have paid his school fees.

MRS. BOLATITO ADAMS

We thank God school is back in session. My children have even gone back, they are in boarding school. We prepared ahead of time, we saved their school fees ahead of time. It was just provisions I bought when they resumed.

MRS. IYABO OLOWO

I have been able to make all necessary preparations for them to go back to school. Having a child in a private school is not an easy task but it was not so difficult. The most important thing is to plan ahead.

MRS. BISOLA ADAMS

I am happy that God spared our lives from 2013 to 2014. For me, school preparation is not easy, I got a new school uniform, school bag, books and many more. It’s not easy but with God everything is possible. So, it was not much of a problem for me.

MRS. VICTORIA FATUNDE

My children resumed this week but I am yet to pay their school fees. Things are really bad economically towards the end of last year. It’s only God that scaled us through. But by the special grace of God, that will be settled next week.

There is slight increment in the fees paid last term. I am paying close to N400,000 for my five children who are in primary and secondary schools.

MRS. LIADI AKINOLA

I can’t say I am fully prepared but I thank God for everything. I just finished paying half of my children’s school fees with the pledge that I will pay the balance before the end of this month. I have three children all in primary school.

The total school fees for all of them is N175,000. It’s not easy but with God, all things are possible.

MR. NATHANIEL NKWACHI OTOROLEHI

Schools have resumed and school fees must be paid. It has not been easy but God is our strength. Since this is not the first term the school fees remain the same. And like I earlier said, it might appear difficult to see the children back to school, but God is doing it for us

MRS. VICTORIA OKEDIE-AGBARA

Paying school fees is every parent’s responsibility. So, for me, it’s no big deal. We have made all arrangements to ensure that our wards continue to get the best education. That is all I can say.
