With the ample time provided with the elongated school holiday, many parents have prepared well for the resumption of their kids and wards.
ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke with some of them on their level of preparations as schools resume this week.
‘WE ARE READY FOR SCHOOL RESUMPTION’
– Mrs. Chiamaka Nathaniel
We are ready for school resumption. We have bought some of the things our wards need. It has not really been easy. The school fees would be paid later in the week.
‘I WAS OVERJOYED WHEN I HEARD THEY ARE RESUMING’
– Yinka Olawale
The truth of the matter is I was overjoyed when I heard they are resuming this week. It’s a great relief.
‘THE CHILDREN ARE READY TO RESUME’
– Victoria Okekie-Agbara
School resumption is a nightmare because of what is involved. But we thank God for His divine provision. The children are ready to resume. But it’s likely the school fees won’t be paid immediately. It is only our ward at the Federal Government College, Umuahia, Abia State that went with her fees. It is well.
‘IT’S A GREAT THING THAT THEY ARE RESUMING AT LAST’
– Eunice Adeleke
Although I am happy, I am still skeptical about their resumption due to Ebola issue. However, it’s a great thing that they are resuming at last. We have got all they needed for resumption since.
‘I AM HAPPY THEY ARE RESUMING AT LAST’
– Mrs. Folake Oyekunle
I am happy they are resuming at last. Although I was scared initially but when kids stayed at home for long, it has adverse effect on them. I am prepared and I have bought all they need for resumption.
‘PERSONALLY, I AM HAPPY’
– Mr. Femi Ebenezer
It’s a great relief that they are resuming at last. Personally, I am happy. Their trouble is too much. We are prepared for their resumption.
‘I THINK CHILDREN HAVE SPENT MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME AT HOME’
– Mr. Afeez Adebayo
I think children have spent more than enough time at home. It’s good that schools reopen on Wednesday, October 8, 2014. And as a parent, I am prepared for that. Event the extension of resumption date really gave me the opportunity to run around for my children’s school fees, and I think I am done with that now.
But that does not mean we should forget the reason for the extension of the holiday. We should continue to handle the issue of Ebola Virus Disease with seriousness.
‘IT’S GOOD THAT SCHOOLS HAVE RESUMED’
– Mrs. Yinka Otuseso
It’s good that schools have resumed. However, that does not mean the government should relent in its role to ensure that the children are safe from the dreaded Ebola Virus Disease (EVD). Government should monitor all schools strictly to ensure that they all put in place all the required preventive measures.
I think by now, all parents should be prepared for the reopening of schools in terms of everything, just like I am.
