Passenger who drowned puppy because they weren’t allowed on plane charged

A woman is being held at Hall County Jail (Georgia, USA) on animal abuse charges after she allegedly drowned a puppy because she couldn’t fly with young dogs.

56-year-old Cynthia Anderson is reported to have had three puppies and two dogs with her before she flew from a Nebraska (USA) airport. But at three weeks old, the puppies were too young to fly.

According to police, Anderson gave two of the puppies to her parents but tried to smuggle one of them on board the flight as hand luggage.

She then took it into the airport’s bathrooms where she allegedly drowned it. Water was later found on the puppy’s lungs and the cause of death was given as drowning.
