Passengers revolt at Heathrow airport after flight is delayed for ten hours

Armed police had to be called after a group of disgruntled passengers at Heathrow Airport (London) staged a revolt today (October 21) when their flight to New York was delayed by ten hours.

A mechanical fault on a British Airways Boeing 747 aircraft (flight BA 175) meant passengers were stuck at a boarding gate in Terminal 5 of the airport.

The angry passengers confronted airport officials demanding answers before police intervened to settle the situation.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said: “Officers were called at 3.30pm to reports of a disturbance in Terminal 5 at Gate 33”.
