Pastor Adeboye builds N1billion Prayer Garden

General Overseer and shepherd in charge of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has commenced the construction of a billion naira project inside the multi billion naira Redemption Camp along Lagos – Ibadan Expressway. Tagged, Prayer Garden, the project, we learnt, would gulp close to N1billion.

ENCOMIUM Weekly’s check revealed that the buildings would sit on the newly acquired 25 acres along Simawa Road, Redemption Camp. We reliably gathered that the foundation of the structures were laid on Monday, October 14, 2013.

“The construction of the Prayer Garden in the Redemption Camp was flagged off as the assistants-general overseer, some members of the governing council, as well as several senior pastors of the mission converged on the 25-acre fenced piece of land along Simawa Road to lay the foundation. Giving the exhortation at the event, a member of the governing council, who is also a regional evangelist in the mission, Pastor David Kuo gave glory to God for the life of the General Overseer for his commitment to prayer. He noted that one of the pillars on which the RCCG is built is prayer and that God has blessed the mission with a leader who does not only talk about praying but leads in praying. Pastor Kuo prayed that as people come to the Prayer Garden, they will encounter God, they will obtain mercy and find help. The corner stones were laid by four assistants general overseer – Pastor D.A Ilori, Pastor J.A.O Akindele, Pastor A.A Aderibigbe and Pastor P. O. Ojo. The National Prayer Coordinator of the mission, Pastor Peter Olawale explained that there will be two prayer cubicles each of which will have capacity for about 80 people pouring their heart out to God at the same time. He said that the topography of the Garden will be maximized to create a prayer mountain for climbers. “The cubicles are there, then the prayer mountain. There will also be a big hall with capacity for about 7000 people. This hall will be used for services and joint prayers. We are going to have chalets where those who come to pray can rest”, he explained.

We gathered that the annual pre-convention camping of ministers slated for ordination will now be done in the Garden when concluded. “We will have prayers and counselling, telephone prayer and counselling facilities will also be available. The general benefit in creating the Prayer Garden is that when people go there, like what we had in the old Shiloh, they can pour out their hearts to God. And no doubt about it, the little that we know on this camp ground confirms that God will answer prayers there. When they go there, with the assurance that God is there, when God is contacted on any issue, He will answer their prayers. One of the benefits there is that people will know that this God still exists. We want to also create an avenue where our ordainees can gather to seek the face of the Lord because, up to this moment, they normally go out somewhere to pray. There is going to be what we call prayer path which will be used for prayer walk. We will also have all books ever written on prayers from all over the world in the library for people to read and to buy from the bookstore. By the time all the buildings which we are trusting God to put in place for us within a year or two would be on ground, then we are going to start what we refer to as Redemption School of Prayers, where people are going to be trained to pray. We are also going to have the Redemption School of Deliverance. These two schools will be established”.

On Thursday, January 23, 2014, the amiable clergy confirmed the story and urged all members of RCCG to pray along the project to be concluded within a year or two.
