“Keep your cars at home”

The annual Holy Ghost Congress, organised by the Pastor Enoch Adeboye led The Redeemed Christian Church of God is gathering momentum. The crusade is scheduled for Monday, December 9 to Saturday, December 14, 2013. The preparation for the 16th edition of the crusade which usually brings together worshippers from all over the world was one of the major reasons that made Pastor Adeboye propose a bigger auditorium. The new 3 kilometer auditorium was to gulp N20 billion and to adequately accommodate thousands of worshippers. Notwithstanding, the clergy man suspended the project and opted to use the existing facilities.
Meanwhile, the massive mobilization for the faithful to attend the Holy Ghost Congress has attracted millions to it. Hence, not a few would join the popular preacher via the internet.
According to a close source, “Daddy GO has attracted people to the internet with the online video advert, calling all friends and beloved to join him for the congress.” Then, response from the online advert, coupled with other responses suggest there would be too much crowd. Our source further emphasised that, “At the moment, all the hotel accommodation is fully booked. Even the maternity facilities have been expanded.”
Going by this development, a last minute plan was revealed by our source, which may be adopted to salvage the situation. “Last year, Daddy GO asked the people from Lagos, Ibadan and its environ not to bring their cars from Thursday of the crusade, as all the car parks are fully utilised. This year, I can tell you that stiffer plan could come up. Because, if there is congestion earlier than expected, Lagosian could be asked to stay back and watch the crusade on the internet.”
Pastor Adeboye has instructed his team to ensure that all routes to The Arena (the congress auditorium) are opened only to pedestrians. Therefore, all the road around the arena will temporary be converted to accommodate people during worship.
“What I can assure you now is that, the expected overflow crowd will be controlled with this new measures,” our source concluded.
