Petrol now N87 per litre

The pump price of petrol across the nation is now N87 per litre, a N10 reduction from the N97 old price.

The announcement was reportedly made by the Ministry of Petroleum Resources headed by Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke.

The minister later spoke to journalists, stating that the new price takes effect at midnight on sunday, January 18, 2015.

“I do hope Nigerians will benefit immensely from this reduction”, she said to newsmen.

And Nigerians will begin to experience the bright side of falling oil prices as transport fares should tumble.

Clearer picture on the new price regime will unfold in a few hours.
