The much awaited autopsy report of Ronke Shonde, 36, allegedly killed by her husband of eight years and father of her two children (Lekan) in the night of Thursday, May 5, 2016, was handed over to the Lagos State Police Command yesterday (Wednesday, May 18).
Several sources claimed that the report of the autopsy ( performed by pathologists from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital,Ikeja, last week) mentioned that she died from acute respiratory seizure, bruises and water in the head.
The report was said to have labeled myocardial infarction (heart attack) as cause of death.
The report was handed over to the police around 8:45 pm yesterday.
The saga of the Shondes dominated public space since her corpse was discovered in their 3, Tiemo Crescent, Egbeda, Lagos flat on Friday, May 6 morning by her nanny and neighbours. Her husband eloped for three days until he was persuaded by friends to surrender on Monday, May 9.
