The Police – sued by Chukwudumeje Onwuamadike, the notorious kidnapper arrested on Saturday, June 10 – has a warrant from an Abuja court to detain him for three months. And the warrant gives the security agency enough time to investigate the ferocious and carefully plotted expeditions of the kingpin in Ghana and South Africa where he’s believed to have operated and has property.
This revelation of the existence of a warrant will nullify the application sought by the Nnewi (Anambra state) born suspect – who’s reported to have operated robbery and kidnap gangs for over a decade – for immediate arraignment or bail.
His application filed at the Federal High Court in Lagos under sections 35 and 36 will easily be stopped with the existing warrant, obtained on Thursday, June 22, from an Abuja court.
