Police make 3 quick progress in Ronke Shonde’s alleged murder

The investigation into the alleged murder of Ronke Shonde, 36, the human resources manager of a publishing company and mother of two children whose corpse was discovered on Friday, May 6,2016, in Egbeda-Idimu (Lagos), is gathering steam. And in a matter of days, the 51 year old suspect and husband of the deceased, Lekan Shonde, who surrendered to the police on Monday, May 9, may be arraigned.
Here are 3 quick advancements made by the police in the last one week…

  1.  Pathologists from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, concluded autopsy on the corpse of Ronke on Thursday, May 12. The report which will be ready on Tuesday, May 17, will be handed over to the police, but it won’t be made public.
  2.  Kayode, the alleged colleague lover of Ronke, has been invited by the police, and he’s set to honor the invitation next week.
  3.  The purported hunger strike embarked on by Lekan Shonde in detention has been suspended. He reportedly ate pounded yam twice on Wednesday, May 11. So, he is no longer a threat to the investigation. He accompanied the police on Wednesday to the scene of crime at their 3, Teimo Close residence in Egbeda-Idimu.

Meanwhile, the Bewajis who live on 4, Ogunsiji Close, off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, are expectedly distraught. They were in a meeting yesterday (Thursday, May 12) when Encomium.ng visited. They have only one surviving child, Bolatito. For now, they have to suspend the burial of their daughter until police conclude investigations and release the corpse to them. Lekan Shonde, according to Punch, claims a jeep he bought for the wife’s birthday is on the high sea as he maintains his innocence.
