Politicians who speak ill of Buhari’s govt, are enemies of progress – Sen. Kashamu

Peoples Democratic Party chieftain and senator representing the people of Ogun East Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Prince Buruji Kashamu has berated politicians who are against the anti-corruption crusade of President Muhammadu Buhari, describing them as enemies of progressive change.

Kashamu, who spoke to journalists at the headquarters of Omoilu Foundation in Ijebu Igbo on Sunday, February 28, 2016, said those opposed to the policies of Mr President are doing so for their selfish interest.

According to him, no sane government would have started in office without the cleansing of the entire system to enable them put the country on a better footing.

The PDP leader argued that those invited so far from the party for questioning over the arms saga shouldn’t see the situation as persecution, stressing further that all those that looted the national treasury should face the damn consequence.

He, however, urged all Nigerians to rally round the President for the benefit of the entire citizenry.

”Our President has kicked off his government on a better footing with policies aimed at addressing the hydra-headed problems facing the country.

Regardless of party affiliations, ethnic diversities and religious differences, I urge all Nigerians to support him with prayers for the benefit of all of us”.

On the controversies surrounding the emergence of Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the PDP chairman, Senator Buruji said the decision was a welcome development, adding that all aggrieved people opposed to his emergence should sheathe their swords and embrace the decision of the party.

Kashamu added further that party supremacy should not only be respected but upheld by party faithful.

Speaking earlier, Engr. Bayo Dayo, the State Chairman of PDP in Ogun state disclosed that Omoilu Foundation should not be separated from PDP as both are interwoven.

According to him, the foundation has assisted so many politicians to realize their ambitions as the backbone of the party in the state. He however urged party faithful to be more committed to the activities of the foundation in its aggressive determination to bring smiles to the faces of the dejected in the community.

Highlight of the event include the distribution of 20 vehicles, 40 motorcycles, 163 sewing machines, 118 generating sets and 20 wheelchairs to members of the foundation across the 20 local government areas in the state.
