Politicos, entertainers assemble as Chief Kenny Martins’ daughter, Tolulope weds Wole Olanipekun’s son

 TOLULOPE Aduke, one of the children of Nigeria’s top politicians, Chief Kenny Martins, got married in grand style to her lover, Olabode Olutoyin, son of legal titan, Wole Olanipekun (SAN) on Saturday, March 1, 2014 in Lagos.  Bits and pieces from the colourful and well attended event is presented here.

THE WEDDING CEREMONY

Olabode and Tolulope Aduke got married at a lavish ceremony on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Gbagada, Lagos.  The colours of the day were ivory and gold which was widely complied with.

ASSEMBLAGE OF JUGGERNAUTS

The occasion was not for all comers. It’s for the high and mighty.  They included Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola; former President Olusegun Obasanjo; former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel; former governor of Osun State, Chief Olagunsoye Oyinlola; Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu; the Osemawe of Ondo Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Victor Adeshina Kiladejo; former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu; Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and wife; human rights lawyer, Femi Falana; National President of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Alhaji Shettima Yerima; Senator Iyiola Omisore, Dele Momodu of Ovation magazine, were all sacrosanct personalities that attended the beautiful occasion.

ENTERTAINERS REGROUP

A-list entertainers were also in the house at the reception staged at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.  They included Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, Ali Baba, the MC Sean Tizzle all made the wonderful event joyous and interesting.

ZAPPHAIRE LEADS IN ALL FRONTS

Zapphaire, the popular event planner was the lead of the occasion, providing everything guests needed.

OTHER DELICACY ORGANISATIONS

Other organizations that made the event worthwhile were Helando Delicia, owned by Morin Abaniwonda; Mallas Foods owned by Morenikeji Ogungbe; Larry Spices owned by Bayo Larry.

OFFICIATING MINISTERS

Pastors J. T. Kalejaiye, Funsho Adedayo, Wilson Ifie, Emeka Obiagwu, Sylvester Mbamali, Gboyega Shitta, Jame Komolafe and Tunde Fowler presided over the marriage ceremony.

NO INVITE, NO ENTRY

The no invite, no entry directive was fully enforced at the reception.  Guests who stormed The Harbour Point Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos without their invites were stranded on the street.  Those who could not wait in the rain left the venue while others found their way in in the night.

THE CAR THE COUPLE RODE IN

The newly-wed rode in a blue Bentley.  The executive automobile was their official car for the day, with number plate EKY 624 BU.

AT THE RECEPTION

Some guests who were drunk were carefully guided by the ushers to avoid any misconduct.

Even security operatives scrambled for drinks.  A bottle of Hennessey could have caused mayhem if not for the timely intervention of some concerned guests.

How do you feel today?

I feel very great and happy.  I give God all the glory.

What attracted you to your wife?

A lot. She is pretty and a wonderful woman.

What do you cherish about today?

The fact that it’s the day I am getting married to the one I love most and that I want to spend the rest of my life with.

How many children do you wish to have?

I want as many as God will give us.

I am extremely happy and I really feel fulfilled being married to the one I love and I want to spend the rest of my life with.

What was the attraction?

His personality and he is very caring and loving.

How many children do you want?

I want just three children.

How did he propose to you?

After praying, he just knelt down and proposed.

I am very happy and elated and fulfilled.

Your daughter is married to Bode, how are you going to take Bode from now?

Bode is my son, he has always been a good man to us.

How many children do you wish for the couple?

I want few, because bringing up children these days is very expensive.  The few children should be properly taken care of and they should be given the best education.

What do you wish the couple?

Good life and moment together.  God’s blessing and a blissful marriage.  They should be friends.

How do you feel today, sir?

I am very happy and I feel elated.  This is a wonderful event that all parents want for their children, so I am very glad.

How would you advise the newly-wed?

They must be friends and put God first in everything they do and all would be well with them.

How many children do you wish for them?

I want as many as they wish for themselves, with God’s support for them.

What do you wish the couple?

I wish them a blissful marriage, and a happy life.

How do you feel today, ma?

I feel very great and fulfilled.  It’s a great thing for parents to see their children wed. I am so happy right now.

What do you wish the couple and your prayers for them?

I wish them a happy life and a fulfilled marriage.  My prayer for them is God’s consent in their marriage.

How would you describe the joy of today?

I will say it is God’s consent.  Without him, there will be nothing like today.

What is the secret of a successful marriage?

It is love and friendship.  They should put God first and all will be well with them.
