PROTESTS TRAIL MISSING CHIBOK, BORNO SCHOOL GIRLS (2) ‘Free our daughters’

Days after the abduction of 230 school girls at the Federal Government Colleg, Chibok, Borno State by the extremist Islamic sect, Boko Haram, about 195 of them are still being held in captivity by the insurgents.

Expectedly, Nigerians from all walks of life have risen in unison to condemn the wickedness meted out to the innocent children.

Many who barred their mind on the issue are pleading with Boko Haram to free the girls, while urging authorities to use all in their powers to ensure their safety and release.

BIODUN OLUWATIMILEYIN

The kidnap of those school girls is a pointer to the fact that nobody is safe in Nigeria again. For Boko Haram to successfully abduct over 200 girls from one location to another, that means we need serious prayers in Nigeria.

They really need to buckle up and stop playing politics. If they need assistance from foreign nations, is it not better than leaving the destiny of the country in the hands of Boko Haram.

When caught, they should be brutally killed as they have done to innocent souls.

PHILIP OLUWASEGUN

It is really pathetic, may God save us. We need to harness all our resources. If they need to consult traditionalists, OPC and the likes to combat the insurgents, it is better. I expect the so-called men of God who claim to see things ahead to have seen and predicted the down fall of Boko Haram since. When caught, capital punishment should be served.

ESTHER IBIKUNLE

I still could not believe this is happening among us. It shows there are lapses in governance. The security lapses are killing us daily. These girls are too young to be molested.

Let them trace their hideout with the help of those of them that escaped.

TAYO OJO

It is easy to lose a child to kidnappers. Who knows what they are using them for. The environment they are is another issue. The place may not be conducive compared to their homes.

Please, let the army face these people squarely once and for all. Use all you have to help the country out of this problem. Who knows who will be the next victim?

UZOR NGOLADI

The abduction of the Chibok, Borno school girls must be condemned. That is why I have joined the protest against their continued abduction by insurgents.

The federal government has to act now before they kill them. I also think we need to address this Boko Haram issue that has led to the untimely death of thousands of innocent Nigerians.

CHIOMA IGWE

First, I sympathize with parents and guardians of the victims who have been in the forest for over 15 days. It is a very unfortunate situation. We want to see our government and security agencies doing more than they are currently doing so as to free the Chibok, Borno schoolgirls.

SAMUEL FATUNDE

I am a parent and I feel so sad that these young girls are still in the den of their kidnappers. No one has any useful information about their situation at the moment. It’s a very terrible occurrence that the government has to be firm about. But the best thing for now is to continue praying for the girls’ safety. Also, I think the authority of the school should be investigated thoroughly because there’s likelihood of conspiracy somehow in the issue.

MARY ESSIEN

Everything boils down to poor security situation of the country. It’s still incredible that we’re yet to get any useful information as to how these innocent girls could be rescued from the hands of their evil abductors. But our security operatives should also be very careful and tactful in their approach to the issue so that the purpose of their rescue mission won’t be defeated.

KUNMI OYEKUNLE

I wept that we don’t value lives in this country.  I have kids and I know how I feel if something happens to them, even for few minutes, how much more when several children were abducted by terrorists and government didn’t see it as national issue. It’s a national disgrace. All service chiefs and the president should step down.

FEMI ADEWOLE

I still find it difficult to believe that government could be lackadaisical about the plight of these innocent children. If it were their kids they would declare national mourning but because they were masses’ kids they care not but went about throwing parties and rallies. It’s tragic.
