PROTESTS TRAIL MISSING CHIBOK, BORNO SCHOOL GIRLS (3) ‘Free our daughters’

Weeks after the abduction of 230 school girls at the Federal Government College, Chibok, Borno State by the extremist Islamic sect, Boko Haram, about 195 of them are still being held in captivity by the insurgents.

Expectedly, Nigerians from all walks of life have risen in unison to condemn the wickedness meted out to the innocent children.

Many who barred their mind on the issue are pleading with Boko Haram to free the girls, while urging authorities to use all in their powers to ensure their safety and release.

SAIDI BALOGUN

It’s a pathetic issue. The problem is a disgrace to Nigeria. But my prayers are that the girls are rescued alive in good shape and are re-united with their parents. It’s a serious problem facing Nigeria. I don’t think we can continue like this. President Jonathan and all others should find a lasting solution to Boko Haram’s unholy activities.

EJIKE ASIEGBU

I’m in the campaign to free the over 200 girls Boko Haram abducted weeks back. This is not the time to apportion blames. Thank God the West has offered to help us. All we are saying is bring back our girls.

LARRY OWOJORI

The abduction of Chibok school girls is a very serious issue. It has attracted global attention, yet the wife of our president keeps shedding crocodile tears. She is disgracing Nigeria. If I were to be in power, I would have sacked all the service chiefs if they can’t meet up to any ultimatum given to them.

We’re all praying God will continue to keep the children alive. And all the Bring Back Our Girls protests won’t go in vain.

VICTOR OSUAGWU

It is painful that these girls have not been freed despite all the appeals being made to their captors. I feel the pains and frustration of their parents. So, I and my family are also saying Bring Back Our Girls.

CHIOMA OKOYE

From bombing to the abduction of children, Boko Haram totally stands for evil and unprovoked terror. I totally condemn their acts of terrorism while I’m also appealing to them to Bring Back Our Girls.

JAMES OGBU

The annoying thing about this issue is the levity and lackadaisical attitude with which the Presidency is handling it. Imagine security operatives, including the army, announcing to their enemies that they will attack an enemy hideout. Where is that done? It is disheartening.

ONYEKACHI JANAI

I really can’t envisage what the parents of those girls will be going through psychologically. Please, we are begging, bring back our girls!

MOTUNRAYO SHOWUNMI

It is becoming frustrating, I suggest the military intensify their search. After all, they are human beings. We should be concerned about their whereabouts.

FATAI ADERIBIGBE

It is highly condemnable, the world attention is on us. The government must not rest on its oars until those girls are found.
