‘Her contract with us expired’ – Fidelis Anosike
The real reason Elohor Aisien quit as Creative Director of Miss Nigeria pageant has been uncovered. A source revealed to ENCOMIUM Weekly the Beth Model boss dumped the project shortly after Miss Ezinne Akudo Anyaoha won the crown in 2013 because of disagreement with the pageant owner, Daily Times over money. We were informed Elohor Aisien found it difficult to get a refund of some of the money she spent to organize the Miss Nigeria 2013. Because of this development, she quit two weeks after a new queen was crowned at the Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
At the moment, the Miss Nigeria project has no creative director to steer the affairs of the next pageant where Miss Ezinne Akudo Anyaoha will relinquish her crown.
ENCOMIUM Weekly source added that the company, Daily Times has also lost some of its key staff due to unpaid salaries. Some of these staff who have resigned (about 10 of them) also worked on the Miss Nigeria project. According to our source, “Elohor left shortly after the event last year. Some of Daily Times staffers have also resigned because off backlog of unpaid salaries. They (Daily Times) are owing me money amounting to N1 million, likewise every other person that has left.”
We reached out to Mr. Fidelis Anosike, the head of Daily Times and the Miss Nigeria project on Saturday, March 8, 2014, for his own side of the story via text message.
He said he was not in Nigeria at that moment and would gladly address the issue when he return, insisting Elohor Aisien’s tenure as creative director of Miss Nigeria had expired. “I will get back to you when I am in the country so I can give you a clear perspective. Elohor had only one year contract with us. Ask her to show you a copy of the contract.”
Mrs. Aisien is said to be in London. As at the time of this report, she couldn’t be reached. Presently, she is concentrating on her new event planning business, Prive.
The Miss Nigeria pageant, after many years of hiatus, was revived by former beauty queen, Ms. Nike Oshinowo. She staged two editions before she left in a controversial circumstance. Mrs. Aisien took over from her and spent only one year with the project.
