It appears all the singletons (single men and women) in Britain have congregated in just 25 cities… and they have a whooping 17.79 million single persons (who are not married or in a civil partnership).
UK’s Channel 4, who compiled the study, used data from Britain’s last census (in 2011) and found Manchester (England) to have the highest percentage of single persons with 54.9 percent. In second and third places are Oxford (England, 53.8 percent) and Cambridge (England, 52.6 percent), respectively.
Others on the list include: Nottingham (England, 51.3 percent) – 4th; Brighton and Hove (England, 50.1 percent) – 5th; Liverpool (England, 49.7 percent)- 6th; Glasgow (Scotland, 49.2 percent)- 7th; Bristol (England, 47 percent) – 8th; Norwich (England, 46.9 percent) – 9th; Belfast (Northern Ireland, 46.6 percent) – 10th; Newcastle (England, 46.5 percent) – 11th; Edinburgh (Scotland, 45.3 percent) and Southampton (England, 45.3 percent) – 12th; Cardiff (England, 45 percent) – 14th; London (England, 44.1 percent) – 15th; Lincoln (England, 44 percent) – 16th; Exeter (England, 43.7 percent) – 17th; Portsmouth (England, 43.5 percent) – 18th; Salford (England, 43.4 percent) – 19th; Dundee (Scotland, 43.2 percent) – 20th; Reading (England, 43.1 percent) – 21st; Aberdeen (Scotland, 42.7 percent) – 22nd; Hull (England, 42.1 percent) – 23rd; Birmingham (England, 41.6 percent) and Derry (Northern Ireland,41.6 percent) – 24th.
