Richest President Saga: Publishers remove Jonathan’s name after threat to sue

Publishers of the recently released list of richest African leaders, RichestLifestyle.com have today (Thursday, October 9, 2014) removed President Goodluck Jonathan’s name from the list after the Nigerian president threatened to drag them to court.
President Jonathan was said to be the sixth richest African President with a net worth of $100 million dollars, a claim that upset the presidency and led the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati to yesterday demand that the article be removed or risk being sued for libel.
A visit to the site today revealed that president Jonathan’s name has been deleted from the list, replaced by an explanatory statement that read, “This article has been removed. The net worth was evaluated by Celebrity Net Worth.”
