Rihanna causes frenzy at BET Awards 2015

She lived up to this reputation at the BET Awards that held at Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, US last sunday when she appeared at the ceremony with a roll of duct tape, which she playfully stuck over the mouth of her seat partner, Floyd Mayweather.

As though that was not enough, the 27-year-old singer raised the buzz a notch higher when she angrily threw a stack of money at Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Programming, minutes before she went on stage to introduce a preview of her ‘Bitch Better Have My Money’ music video.

Expectedly, the ‘drama’ created a buzz on social media with several fans chiding her for publicly embarrassing Hill, Ummm why is Rihanna throwing her bag at the CEO and Chairman of BET. Aka Stephen Hill? @bluray tweeted. “Did Rihanna just flip out on homeboy?” another viewer observed.

A few minutes after however, Hill posted a picture of himself and Riri on his Instagram with the caption ‘We kissed and made up’, which suggests it could have been staged.

Safe to say that she had fun despite losing the Best Female R&B/Pop Artist award to Beyonce. Other winners of the night include Chris Brown who won Best Male R&B/Pop Artiste, Nicki Minaj for Best Female Hip Hop Artiste and Kendrick Lamar for Best Male Hip Hop category.

The BET Awards is organized by Black Entertainment Television Network and seeks to celebrate African Americans and other minorities in music, acting, sports, and other fields of entertainment.
