Robbers Burgle Actress Keji Ogunro’s Salon

– Cart away expensive hairdressing equipment, generators and cash

‘I have handed them over to God’ – she says

It’s surely not the best of times for fast rising thespian, Keji Kudirat Ogunro. And the reason is not farfetched. An industry source informed ENCOMIUM Weekly that the ultra modern salon, Shemmy Unisex, on College Road, Ifako, Lagos, owned by the gap-toothed actress was bugled by bandits on the early hours of Tuesday, July 12, 2016, and almost all the goods and equipment therein, worth thousands of naira, were carted away. The incident, we learnt, has since left the Abeokuta, Ogun born film maker devastated.

According to the source, the robbery incident happened at the time Ogunro was putting finishing touches to her first movie, She Boy which is likely to be premiered before the year runs out.

“Keji Ogunro, Iyabo Ojo’s girl, is not in a good mood at the moment. I learnt robbers came to her salon at Haruna, Ifako-Ijaiye area of Lagos State on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, around 2am and carted away all her goods, two generators, expensive equipment and cash.

“I learnt the incident was noticed the following morning when other shop owners in the area came for their daily activities. I also learnt it’s these people that raised an alarm and informed Keji because she was on movie location at the time of the incident.

“With all the items that were stolen, I learnt she has lost about N1 million if not more. The incident has really affected her and all the plans for the premiere of her first movie which she has spent a lot of money on. I also learnt she just moved into a beautiful apartment in Ishaga, Lagos, which also drained her bank account. And when she’s trying to beef up financially, her shop was burgled.”

However, the pretty role interpreter confirmed the ugly occurrence on Friday, July 22, 2016, when she was contacted by ENCOMIUM Weekly. She added that she has handed over the matter to God despite informing the police.

‘Yes, my salon was burgled and many items, including two big generators, expensive hairdressing equipment, weavons, cosmetics, cash and other valuables were stolen. They vandalized the shop, though that has been repaired.

“I was on movie location when the incident happened. I was called on phone by my neigbour. It happened in the night, my apprentices were also not around. It really pained me because I don’t know where to start from, now that it’s even very difficult to survive.

“Anyway, I have handed over the hoodlums to God. Also, the case has been reported to the police. I believe the long arm of the law will catch up with the robbers soon because they have reaped where they didn’t sew.”
