US-based news website, TMZ reports that Robin Williams’ suicide was triggered by a horrible disease called Lewy Body Dementia, with family sources telling the website that the disease was the “key factor” they believe drove him to kill himself in his California (USA) home on August 11.
According to documents obtained by the website, Williams (63) was struggling with the disease which causes abnormal protein deposits in the brain.
Lewy Body Dementia is a common condition associated with Parkinson’s disease, which he was also battling with at the time of his death. Hallucinations are common, where patients see phantom objects, people or animals. The patients often try to converse with the illusions.
