Rotimi Makinde, new wife honeymoon at Obudu Cattle Ranch, Cross River

‘We’re enjoying the beautiful environment’

NEWLY-WED entertainer turned politician, Hon. Rotimi Makinde and his new wife and beauty queen, Oyebanke are now in Obudu Ranch, Cross River State, observing their honeymoon. ENCOMIUM Weekly can reveal authoritatively.

An impeccable source disclosed to ENCOMIUM Weekly that the elated couple left Ile-Ife, Osun State on Saturday, August 28, 2013, for Cross River State, where they will be spending close to one month, having a blast at the wondrous hospitality haven.

Confirming this development, ENCOMIUM Weekly got across to the successful businessman and vibrant lawmaker on Wednesday, September 4, 2013, and he exploded in joy saying they’re already in Obudu Ranch, having a rave in the beautiful ambience of the ranch.

“It’s true we are on honeymoon at Obudu Ranch. We’re really enjoying the beautiful and conducive atmosphere.  It’s indeed a place to be.”

However, no sooner than they left, than rumour mill was agog social media filled with report that the choice of Obudu Ranch by the brilliant lawmaker for the post-wedding rendezvous was not unconnected with the fact that he has actually run out of money after the superlative wedding which held Miccom Golf Hotel and Resort, Ada, Osun State on Saturday, August 24, 2013.

ENCOMIUM Weekly’s efforts to get Hon. Makinde’s reaction on this were futile as his mobile phone was off.  We, however, got across to his media person, Sanya Ojo on Saturday, September 7, 2013, who reacted with discomfort about the report, claiming it’s misleading and senseless.

“Our attention has been drawn to an online report that Hon. Rotimi Makinde was broke after the lavish wedding.  It’s misinformation and unfortunate for any discerning mind to nurse or aid dissemination of the insinuation that a trained and successful accountant in person of Hon. Makinde could in any situation get involved in anything that could lead to financial recklessness.

“Accountants are known to be judicious in their spending, and Hon. Makinde is an accountant of many years experience in the private and public sectors, and to be precise, NNPC where he served for 20 years.  Being a member of House of Representatives representing four local governments, a right thinking person would know that such a political office holder would have a large number of supporters who provide the platform to rejoice with their leader.  Indeed, the night party later held in Ile-Ife was a direct way of satisfying the yearnings of his numerous supporters who wanted an event held in the constituency.  So, it’s clearly vague and hypocritical in the extreme to say a federal lawmaker would hold an event and not make it grand for top personalities that attended such a party, and everything done was still indeed reasonable, and not over elaborate compared to many.

“It’s also an established fact that as a thorough businessman, he could not have also in any instance spent beyond his budget or go into borrowing as being peddled by mischievous enemies and faceless bloggers merely because of marriage ceremony.

“However, travelling abroad for honeymoon is not in his agenda.  Besides, it’s even more expensive to be in Obudu Ranch than going abroad for such a thing.”
