What hitherto appeared as an unending cold war between backup singer, Kokoro Taofeek (Olohun Lugo) and his boss of 25 years, Alhaji Saidi Akorede, famously addressed as Osupa is now a thing of the past as both parties are said to have buried their hatchets.

An industry source disclosed to ENCOMIUM Weekly that Kokoro and Osupa agreed to sheathe their swords after the intervention of some of their strong fans who considered it noble on their parts to reconcile the aggrieved parties.

The source further disclosed that Kokoro, in company of the said peace makers, led other aggrieved colleagues to Osupa in his Lagos residence recently where the rift was finally settled.

“Osupa and Kokoro have settled their fight. I learnt that one of their strong fans brokered the reconciliation with other strong fans in both Lagos and Ibadan because of the love they have for his music. I gathered other affected members of the band were also led to Osupa’s house in Lagos for the reconciliation.

“I learnt all of them have agreed to go back to Osupa and Osupa too embraced them as well.

“I also learnt that Osupa is much more interested in Kokoro because he’s yet to see his replacement since he left. I learnt that’s why he bought him a brand new Toyota Camry. Now, I learnt that Kokoro has agreed to go back to his former boss and continue to lead the band which was what he was known for before they parted ways sometime in 2015.”

However, since the said reconciliation, news have started filtering that the need for Osupa to arrive at the decision was not unconnected to the fact that the Ibadan, Oyo born fuji lyricist’s music has been fading out in the ears of some of his addicted fans, therefore losing popularity in social circles.

When ENCOMIUM Weekly contacted Kokoro on Friday, September 16, 2016, he confirmed the development. He added that all is now well between himself and his boss.

“It’s true, we have reconciled. No more war between us. We have both made an amend and everything is over now.”

On how the peace was finally brokered, he reacted, “Our fans, who were displeased with our split insisted we should embrace peace. And who am I not to heed the advice? We thank everybody who felt concerned about our plight. We appreciate all that waded into the crisis. We’re back together in peace now.”

On the rumoured car gift from Osupa, he also cleared the air, “Yes, he gave me a Toyota Camry, it’s not a rumour. He’s my oga. I thank him for appreciating me at last.”

Also, on the fate of his new band, Fuji Modernizers, Kokoro said, “That’s a small issue. After all, it’s a hip-hop stuff and Osupa is aware of it already. That can’t disturb me from playing my role in his band as I used to. We have had an agreement on that. That’s no problem at all concerning that.”
