Saraki’s roller-coaster wedding in Lagos surpasses benchmarks

The second leg of the wedding of Oluwatosin Saraki and Adeniyi Olukoya at the prestigious Eko Hotels & Suites on Adetokunbo Ademola, Victoria Island (Lagos) on Saturday, October 28, 2017, surpassed all benchmarks as the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo and Alhaji Aliko Dangote led politicos and moguls. Following the Ilorin (Kwara state) introduction staged on Saturday, October 21, this Lagos gig paraded all the trappings of glamour.
Hosted by the Ojoras (the bride’s maternal grandparents), Sarakis and Olukoyas, the traditional engagement surpassed its billings. And all the elements that raise ceremonies to a 7-star extravaganza were plotted to be in full bloom.
The Convention Centre of the number 1 event’s venue which charges almost N20 million for shindigs with all its facilities at organisers’ command gave a few concessions. Apart from caterers complementing the hotel’s buffet, royal treatment was splashed on guests who were treated to lavish entertainment expected from guardians of soigne.
The Ojoras (the Otunba Adekunle and Erelu Ojuoalape), parents of Toyin Saraki (the stunning mother of the bride), treated platoons of socialites whose ceremonies they have consistently graced to a rollicking carnival.
Hosting the first major event after losing their first son, 50-year-old Gbegi Ojora to cancer on April 10, 2011, the well-connected pillars of high society were rewarded for their investments in goodwill. Always supportive at friends’ events, hundreds pledged allegiance and rewarded them bountifully.
And the refined couple displayed long years of panache and happiness took residence in their bosoms.
The Olukoyas from Ogun, Omoba Adebola and Olori Adetokunbo, played their parts in the nuptials of their son. Known as ultimate hosts of lavish events, Ogun state indigenes are familiar with high octane fetes. The Olukoyas sent forth Adeniyi into matrimony in grand style. For the number three citizen, Senate President Bukola Saraki and his wife, their silver spoon friends who dominate businesses and professions coloured the atmosphere bright and beautiful. This first wedding in their household was given painstaking attention with ultimate pleasure as their singular objective.
And high society was in frenzy was on Saturday, October 28 engagement. With shades of purple in geometric lines with white and gold, the aso ebi cap and headgear were well-chosen. The lace for the traditional garbs was a mixture of gold, silver, purple splattered with gems…
