British born Nigerian, Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel, popularly called Seal, 52, is back in the limelight with the release of his new album, 7, in October, 2015. His last album release was in 2011.
Though he admitted he is joyful returning to his passion, he detests being called a celebrity and does not enjoy the attention on his personal life. He divorced his supermodel wife, Heidi Klum in 2012, after seven years of marriage.
He said, “I’m a musician. I’m not someone who’s doing rocket science or saving lives – I’m an entertainer. The whole celebrity thing and the personal life, it’s absurd.
“It’s absurd to think I’m different from you because the publications say so. I’m different because I write music and I can sing, but then there are a lot of different things about you that I can’t do.
“So I just think that the whole celebrity thing and being in the press for the wrong reasons, I never liked it.”
Seal wants to see how well the album sells before deciding on a musical tour.
7, he said, is a collection of personal songs about love.
