FANI KAYODE REMANDED IN PRISON

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arraigned Femi Fani – Kayode before a federal high court in Lagos yesterday, June 28. Fani Kayode was arraigned alongside Nenadi Esther Usman, Danjuma Yusuf and Johntrust Dimensions Nigeria Limited on a 17-count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing, corruption and making cash payment exceeding the amount authorized by law.

However, it was reported that the defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges preferred against them. In view of their plea, prosecuting counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo asked that trial commence

immediately and that the case be given accelerated hearing.

 

BOKO HARAM ATTACKING INTERNET –  LT. GEN. TUKUR BURATAI

Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has said that Boko Haram has been defeated in the battle field and now the terrorists have taken the battle to cyberspace. Buratai made the comments in reaction to the Dubai property scandal.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) who spoke on Tuesday, June 28, noted that there is no need for his reaction to the story since the Federal Government has already reacted. Buratai asserted that the army will trail the terrorists who have migrated to the Internet and defeat them there.

 

BURATAI ASSETS ARE BASED ON CAPITAL MARKET PRINCIPLES OF SHAREHOLDING –  FG

Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff has been cleared of the allegations that he owns assets outside the country. It was revealed that the federal government has concluded investigation on the top military officer and has been indicated that his assets and military acquisitions are based on capital market principles of shareholding.

After the necessary investigations have been carried out, the Federal Government has made bold to say that the ownership of the properties was based on being investors as shareholder in companies for dividends and profits rather than total ownership of the property.

 

APC CHIEFTAIN SPEAKS ABOUT BREAKUP OF NIGERIA, NNAMDI KANU

One of the chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Tobby Anumaka, patron of Okpoko Igbo has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari concerning the detention of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

He stated that the change mantra of the incumbent government is on course, while asking president Muhammadu Buhari to release Kanu unconditionally. Anumaka added that Igbo leaders should be blamed for the plight of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mr. Nnamdi Kanu.

 

GOV. AL-MAKURA TANKO VISITS PRESIDENT BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, June 28, received governor Al-Makura Tanko of Nasarawa state at the state house. The governor in the course of the visit presented a map to the president. The map contained a housing scheme project which is to be implemented in the All Progressives Congress (APC) – led state.

President Buhari was all smiles as he received the governor, saying that he was really happy and impressed with the efforts and amount of work put into the project by Tanko.

 

TOMPOLO BEGS PRESIDENT BUHARI IN A NEW LETTER

Tompolo in an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the Nigeria military during one of their raids on his community have taken his symbol of authority as the chief priest of Egbesu shrine, Oporozo, Gbaramatu Kingdom.

Tompolo in the letter to the president expressed his wish to meet with Buhari, saying that the meeting would present him with an opportunity to tell president Buhari “My side of the numerous stories you have been inundated about me”. He called on the president to kindly direct his army to return looted items and release those in their custody.

 

BUHARI SUPPORTS JONATHAN’S INITIATIVE, PAYS ‘YOUWIN’ AWARDEES

President Muhammadu Buhari has paid N1.6 billion to about 638 youths under the Youth Enterprise with innovation in Nigeria (YouWin) programme, thereby showing his huge support for his predecessor, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

It was gathered that the present administration took it upon itself to reward the young Nigerians who made the said money during the Jonathan – led administration. This new development has all but quashed initial fears that President Buhari may outrightly scrap the programme, as there had been series of protests over the delay in grants.

 

WHY BUHARI ALLOWED THE ARREST OF MOHAMMED UMAR

Mohammed Umar, a key member of the panel investigating the mismanagement of public funds meant for the war against Boko Haram has been arrested on the orders of President Buhari.

Buhari’s approval for the arrest came after the president received damning reports that he was involved in alleged money laundering and illegal possession of firearms. It was disclosed that despite being his close ally and loyalist, Buhari okayed the arrest of Mohammed Umar, alleging that the retired Air Force officer ran a blackmailing and extortion syndicate.

 

APC GROUP SUGGEST RIBADU TO FIGHT BUHARI’S ANTI-GRAFT WAR

The former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu has been suggested as the right man to help president Buhari in his war against corruption.

Speaking at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the APC National Coalition for Peace and Mobilization (NACOPEM), Comrade Saleh voiced the readiness of the group to reach out to some important members of the APC who either left the party in anger or were misled into leaving in the run up to the 2015 general elections.

 

ARMED BANDITS CAMP RAIDED BY TROOPS IN ZAMFARA STATE

The Nigerian troops currently battling Boko Haram terrorists in Nigeria’s northeast have reportedly made significant success in the war against insurgency.

According to a statement issued by Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, the military spokesperson, the troops raided and destroyed suspected cattle rustlers and armed bandit camps in Zamfara state. The troops during the patrol killed 3 armed bandits, wounded some and recovered stolen animals.
