Sentiments reign as hawkers’ ban is enforced in Lagos

Sentiments flood the social media as Lagos state government promises to begin full enforcement of the street trading law which recommends six year jail term or N90,000 fine for both sellers and buyers.

And with Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s reiteration over the weekend that there will be zero tolerance for law breakers, many are apprehensive about the fate of thousands of traders whose means of livelihood will be affected and the hungry Lagosians who can’t do without patronizing them.
