Serena is Wimbledon champion for 7th record time
The world’s number one seed won 7-5, 6-3, to clinch her seventh Wimbledon title and her 22nd grand slam. Her first Wimbledon win was 14 years ago, and this time she never lost a set all through the tournament.
She gushed after the match : ” It’s been incredibly difficult not to think about it. It makes the victory even sweeter to know how hard l worked hard for it. This court definitely feels like home. I have a match later today in the doubles, so l will be back out “.
