Seun Egbeegbe settles to long tenancy at Ikoyi Prisons

Embattled entertainment promoter, Oluwaseun Olasunkanmi Olajide Kareem, better addressed as Egbeegbe, who initially thought the battle before him was a child’s play may have started learning his lessons the hard way now as the hope of his release has refused to beckon; hence his continued incarceration which has spanned almost 10 months.

The socialite turned serial suspect,  encomium.ng was informed, has resigned to fate nd continued to adapt to the messy situations he found himself since he has been unable to fulfil his bail conditions for the second offence he committed(an attempt to swindle bureau de change operators of about N6.3 m) at Gbagada General Hospital where he pretended to be a doctor who needed forex.
The source further told us that apart from few of Egbeegbe’s family members, including his new baby mama, Nikky Berry,  who delivered a baby girl(Marian) a couple of months back, nobody cares about the Abeokuta, Ogun born showbiz promoter who has been coollng off at Ikoyi Prisons since February 2017.
“I don’t have anything new about Egbeegbe. The only thing is that I learnt he’s now  sober and very remorseful. He has adapted to all the conditions in Ikoyi Prisons. I learnt he participates well in all activities, including morning exercise. I don’t think the family is taking any further step that can guarantee his release because all hopes to get sureties have been dashed. Now, he’s only waiting on the mercies of God because no one knows when he will be produced in court let alone how long the trial will last since no one is ready to stand for him.”
Egbeegbe was caught on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos with  nine iPhone handsets valued at over N2.4m. He was later arrested and detained by the star command. He was charged with stealing on Thursday, November 24, 2016 and was brought before Magistrate Aje Afunwa of Roseline Omotosho Court but was granted bail. He perfected his bail conditions and was released pending the time he would appear in court for the hearing of the case.t
But to the uttermost surprise of many within and outside the industry, Egbeegbe still perpetrated another crime. This time around an attempt to swindle bureau de change operators of about N6.3m. The offence that consequently led him to becoming a long term tenant in Ikoyi Prisons without any iota of hope of being released soon as his bail conditions are yet to be met and likelihood of meeting them is still very remote.
