Seun Egbeegbe’s iPhone theft drama stupefies Yoruba movie industry

Major players in the Yoruba movie industry are still in shock over Seun Egbeegbe’s alleged theft of 9 iPhone handsets. Many are stupefied that a seemingly well-to-do promoter of movies and music who has five vehicles and the paraphernalia of comfort can be involved in such a disgraceful drama.

When the news of the alleged theft of phones valued at over N2 million on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Computer Village (Ikeja, Lagos) went viral, some of them who spoke to Encomium.ng claimed it was a movie scene. Even when the pictures filtered into the Internet, they still maintained that it was a movie with a plot of the controversial promoter from a film.

But as the news gathered authenticity, a few of them concluded that he must have been under a spell. And with the confirmation from Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos Command, SP Dolapo Badmos, they reaffirmed their suspicions  that he must have offended some people who cursed him.

Many of them have kind words for the 40 year old Abeokuta (Ogun) indegene who has two wives and two children. They painted a picture of generosity, unlike the curse rained on him in social media.

Even when he was arraigned on Thursday, November 24, at an Ikeja magistrate court which granted him bail but remanded him in prison pending perfection of the bail conditions, some came to court to find out if indeed the man was involved in the mess.
