Star actress, Shan George, who recently became a grandmother, says she’s joyous and on top of the world! The mother of two declared this in an exclusive interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Wednesday, September 10, 2014.
She also dispelled rumours she has issues with her singer son (Jaga), explaining it was only a disagreement with his British promoters which has since been sorted out. We took her on other issues…
Congrats, ma’am! We learnt you are now a grandmother?
Yes, it’s true. I’m now a grandmother.
How does it feel to be a grandmother?
It feels really cool, especially the fact that I gave birth to all boys, now I have a girl.
How is the experience like?
I was happy when my son told me about his girl being pregnant. Children are a beautiful gift from God.
What is the best thing about being a grandmother?
Best thing about me being a grandmother is the fact that as a Christian, God’s promise of keeping me alive to see my children’s children has been fulfilled.
It seems none of your children is taking after you career wise. Is none really interested in acting…
None of my children is into acting so far, but my second son is doing music and just released the popular song, Edo Boy, which is currently making waves all over the world.
It has been a while you featured last in a movie, why?
I have not been in movies for about three years now because after shooting my last film Finding Goodluck my aged mother fell ill and I had to abandon everything I was doing at that time, so as to stay and take care of her in the hospital (I’m an only child). She’s much better now and the film would soon be out.
What actually happened between you and your son?
Nothing happened between me and my singer son, I only had issues with his British promoters for releasing the song, Edo Boy before I heard and approved. It’s all been sorted out now and I’m still his manager and Babylynn Promotions, UK is still handling his promotions.
What project is Shan George working on at the moment?
The project I have at hand is the premiering and DVD release of my film, Finding Goodluck in Calabar on October 5. And managing my junior son’s music career, besides still taking care of my mom.
