Agence France Presse (AFP) reports that a man claiming to be Abubakar Shekau – the Boko Haram leader – has appeared in a new video today (October 2), contradicting earlier military reports that he has been killed.
The clip – obtained by the agency – shows a man who looks similar to the man claiming to be Shekau in previous videos in military gears.
Addressing the reports of his death, ‘Shekau’ said: “Here I am, alive. I will only die the day Allah takes my breath, nothing will kill me until my days are over”.
