Shina Peters joins cancer patient wife, Sammie in US – Iju, Lagos home locked

IT’S certainly not the best of times for Afrojuju creator, Sir Shina Peters, SSP, as his wife, Sammie is reportedly down with cancer.

According to social media report, she is receiving treatment at a private hospital in the United States of America at the moment.

However, the type of cancerous ailment the pretty mother of one child, Clinton, is battling right now could not be ascertained.  But according to a reliable source, her present health situation deserves urgent and intensive medical attention; hence the decision to fly her abroad before getting out of control.

“It’s true that Shina Peters’ wife has cancer but I don’t know exactly the type of cancer she’s battling.  What I know is that she is currently in a US hospital.  I also learnt her husband joined her a couple of days back. We all need to pray for her as it’s usually very difficult to survive the ailment unless it is detected early and urgent medical attention is paid to it.”

ENCOMIUM Weekly’s efforts to confirm or debunk the story from SSP were not successful as his mobile line was not within the coverage area.  This confirmed what the earlier source told us that the Afrojuju star has travelled to join his ailing wife in the US.

However, on Sunday, January 18, 2015, ENCOMIUM Weekly also visited the Iju, Lagos home of the indefatigable entertainer, but the place was under lock and there was nobody to attend to us.

One of his neighbours who spoke to us anonymously said, “I don’t’ think the man is around.  As you can see, the gate is locked.  Although, I don’t know the reason he travelled, I learnt madam is also not around.  But since few days now, this place has been like this.”

Shina and Sammie got married about 32 years ago and the union is blessed with a son, Clinton, who was born nine years after wedlock.
