Congratulations!  How does it feel to be married?

It feels great.  It is a new step.

What are your expectations as you step into the marriage institution?

A new life, new dream, new ambition, new responsibility.

How did you meet your husband?

We met in a funny manner.  I don’t think I want to share it.  No one introduced us to each other.  We met on the road and he walked up to me and he struck friendship with me, that was it.

Like how many years now?

We have been friends for 10 years now.

When did he propose to you?

About six, seven months ago.

What was your reaction when he proposed?

I already knew he was going to ask me. If he wasn’t going to ask, I was ready to ask.

What do you cherish most about him?

The fact that he makes me laugh.  He is very supportive, he always supports me in everything, he is also very understanding.  He is not judgmental. He is someone I can open up to. I can tell him the good, the bad and the ugly.

Tell us about yourself.

I am a graduate. I had my first degree in English Language, then my Masters in Management at the School of Management in Belgium. I have been working before that and I am still working. I just joined Heritage Bank.

Congratulations!  How does it feel to be married?

It feels great so far. I believe it is the sign of good things and good times to come.

What do you cherish about her?

She is very caring and understanding. She is also very patient and understanding because I can make trouble at times. She understands when to get involved and when to let me be.

What was the attraction when you met her?

Can’t you see her, she is very beautiful.  So, what else do I want?

What is the best thing about finding a wife?

I think there is no need to rush into it.  We had to be patient.  We have known each other for 10 years now.  We know each other in and out. I guess that is the best about it.

Tell us about yourself.

I am a lawyer by profession but presently, I am not practicing.  I studied International Law to Masters level. I am managing an agro allied company. It is a small enterprise.

How many children are you looking at?

10, for the years we have known each other (laughs).

Congratulations ma, how does it feel that your first son is getting married today?

I have been in sadness for the past two years.  Today, I am so happy, my spirit is highly lifted.  My husband’s friends did not let us down.  You could see that the hall was filled with loads and loads of men. I give glory to God and I thank them all for the support they have given to my family.  May God bless everyone that attended the wedding.  And for those that due to one reason or the other could not attend the wedding, may God bless them too.

What was your reaction when he brought his wife home?

It was long expected. I have been praying for him to get married. His father actually wanted him to get married at 26. How I wished his father saw this before he died. This is my first son, the carbon copy of his father except that he is a lot taller than his father. He just behaves like the father.

How will you describe your son and what are your wishes for him?

He is a humble man. His wife is so lucky to have gotten a very caring, humble son of mine.  And of course, she is also a sweet girl. She is also very caring.  The Bible says what God has joined together, no father, no mother, not even siblings, nor friends should come in between them. I wish them the best.

‘Jesus is enough in their marriage’

  • Rabi Momoh, Bride’s mother

DSC_0381Can we meet you, ma?

My name is Rabi Momoh.  My adopted daughter in whom I am well pleased is getting married today.

How does it feel, ma?

It feels wonderful. I am very excited and elated.

What advise do you have for her?

I advise her to take her husband as her father, mother, sibling and everything apart from God.  She should put God first in her marriage and every other thing will work out well. She has to be patient, she has to learn that it’s not everything you take to heart.  You have to let some things go and focus on God.

What about your prayer for her?

I wish her the best, more than she wish herself.  I wish her Jesus.  The whole world is not enough but Jesus is enough for her. I wish her Jesus in her marriage.
