She did not only give thanks to Almighty God for sparing her life up till the moment, she also rolled out the drums for family, friends and well wishers to jollificate with her as she added another year.

HER PROFILE

Princess Ajoke Risikat Adeniyi-Adegeye had her secondary school education in Lagos before she got married to KSA at 23.  She had all her children (two) for him.

She became a member of Lagos House of Assembly in 2007 representing Amuwo Odofin Constituency 1.  While in the House, she was the Chairman, the House Committee on Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.  In 2011, she was appointed a commissioner in the newly established Lagos House of Assembly Service Commission (LAHASCOM) where she is presently serving.

THE CHURCH SERVICE

The amiable Princess started the day with prayers held at Christ Church (Anglican Communion), Amuwo Odofin Estate, Mile 2, Lagos.  The service, which was scheduled to start at 10 a.m did not start until few minutes after 11 a.m when the celebrant and her husband, King Sunny Ade came into the church in their big black jeep.

When the celebrant and her husband were ushered into the church, it was as if they were doing the renewal of their marriage vow.

KSA, THE SUPPORTIVE AND LOVING HUSBAND

Despite the fact that six other wives of King Sunny Ade were in the church to celebrate with one of their own, KSA did not hesitate to join the celebrant in singing praises to the Lord right there inside the church after the sermon.

THE NAIRA RAIN FOR THE CHURCH

Most churches in the country today hardly allow big men and women coming to their churches slip away without making pecuniary gain from it.

The occasion of Hon. Princess Adeniyi-Adegeye’s 55th birthday, holy communion service was one the church would not allow to go away like that without them taking advantage of it.

The church reminded the congregation of their struggle to buy a church organ of which they have deposited N2 million already as first instalment.

Pronto, King Sunny Ade promised to add N1 million to the payment.  The celebrant added her own N200,000. Rt. Hon. Adeyemii Ikuforiji, the Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly told the church to collect whatever they have paid to the seller, that he will send to them the same type he bought for his wife’s church.

THE GOLDEN TULIP CONNECTION

If there is one thing the celebrant has succeeded in proving to all with her 55th birthday celebration, it is the fact that she and King Sunny Ade are as close as any loving couple.

After the church service, the celebrant and KSA drove back to Golden Tulip Hotel, Amuwo Odofin which is a walking distance from the church.  This gave the impression to everybody that is where they slept overnight and from where they came to the church.

They went back to the hotel to pack their luggage for onward movement to Ikeja, Lagos where the reception took place.

THE RECEPTION

Reception held at the Prestige Catering and Hotels, NERDC Road, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.  The place is owned by Ms. Bimpe Oluremi Tinubu and Hon. Lola Akande.  As expected, the place was jam packed with family, friends, politicians, staffers of Lagos House of Assembly Service Commission (LAHASCOM) and well wishers.

On the bandstand was Akin Omo Akin who sings like Yinka Ayefele.

KSA’S SHOW OF LOVE AND AFFECTION

Again and again, the celebrant proved to people that what exist between her and King Sunny Ade is more than just being the father and mother of the children.  At the reception, the compere called out KSA to sing for the celebrant.  When he came out to sing, it was in Indian fashion and the celebrant too responded by dancing like an Indian belly dancer.

The two were also called out for a dance competition and to the admiration of all, they gave a good account of themselves with the celebrant emerging winner and KSA raising up his hand to acknowledge that.  All these were done in the presence of KSA’s other wives.
