Skales bags record deal with Baseline Music

‘It is a bigger platform’

These are certainly exciting times for rapper and singer extraordinaire, John Raoul Njeng-Njeng, otherwise known as Skales, as the newest label executive has bagged a record deal with Baseline Music.

The Shake body crooner, who recently returned from the United States of America, spoke with ENCOMIUM Weekly’s Michael Nwokike, and he could not hold back his excitement at the new deal…

skalesCongratulations on your new deal with Baseline Music. How does it feel securing such a deal?

I feel really blessed. It is a bigger and stronger platform for me and all that I stand for, which is churning out the best music and building the best entertainment brand.

What are the details of the deal? Is it a partnership between OHK Entertainment and Baseline Music or you are signed strictly as an artiste?

I’m a recording and performing artiste signed to Baseline Music alongside Saeon and Mr. Chido. OHK Entertainment still exists with Drey Beatz and some other names I can’t mention now. There’s so much to expect from both camps.

What should we look forward to with this new deal?

A lot, definitely. I’m working on my debut album, which drops this year. The video for Shake Body was just released and I’m working on more singles, tours and collaborations.

How well is the video of Shake Body doing on the charts?

It’s doing very well, thankfully. Major thanks to all the TV stations, the media and shows in Nigeria and around the world. The response online has been huge and encouraging too.

skalesWhat has the feedback from fans been?

What can I say. My fans are the ‘realest’ and truest friends ever. They make me want to do so much more. It’s the reason I decided to give away $10,000 to show my appreciation for all the love and support over the years. The fans video competition is still going on. Aside the new deal, what else is new about Skales?

Everything about Skales is better and stronger now and you’ll be seeing all of it as the days pass. It’s Skales season. I am presently in Atlanta cooking something new. I can assure you that you will be the first to know once that is sorted.
