Socialite Tunde Debasco drags estranged wife to court – Alleges infidelity

‘I can’t comment on it

THE last is yet to be heard about the collapse of the marriage of Otunba Babatunde Onakoya, popularly known as Debasco, to his estranged wife, Olayinka as the top socialite has dragged his hitherto sweetheart to court over irreconcilable differences.

ENCOMIUM Weekly gathered from an impeccable source that the successful businessman cum politician has dragged the latter before an Abeokuta High Court (Ogun) over a petition she wrote to Citizens’ Right Commission in the Ministry of Justice, Ogun State, claiming she bought an Acura Legend car from the socialite, and was not allowed to go with it when packing out of her matrimonial home weeks back.

“The end to the crisis in the marriage of Otunba Tunde Debasco to his wife, Olayinka is not in sight at all. I learnt Debasco has challenged his wife in court over all the allegations she leveled against him at the Citizens Right Commission, Ministry of Justice, Ogun State.  He claimed his wife never bought any car from him while also stating infidelity as part of the reasons he called it quits with his long time relationship with her.”

Meanwhile, Debasco was also said to have alleged that his estranged wife was given goods worth N50 million without her remitting any money into his account as agreed.  Not only that, he also made an instalmental payment of N6,485,400 into his wife’s different accounts with proofs, for the purchase of sawmill equipment but he claimed his wife has nothing to show for it.

An inside source has also revealed to ENCOMIUM Weekly that the influential entrepreneur cum politician had sought court action to stop arrangement by the Citizens Right Commission in Ogun State to intervene in the matter.

“I learnt a meeting by Citizens Right Commission in Ogun State to broker peace between Debasco and his wife was earlier slated for Thursday, October 29, 2015, but was stopped by Debasco via court injunction.  With this scenario, it’s crystal clear that things have fallen apart between the couple, and the centre is not likely to hold again.”

ENCOMIUM Weekly’s efforts to get Debasco’s reaction proved abortive as the Atiba, Ogun born mogul declined comment.

“I can’t comment on that for now.  The case is in court already.”
