Sodom reincarnates in Tall el-Hammam, Jordan

Tall el-Hammam in Jordan has been discovered by researchers to have similar descriptions with Sodom, one of the cities destroyed by God for their sins in the Old Testament of the Bible.  The remains of the ‘monstrous’ Bronze City Age is said to match that of Sodom.

Tall el-Hammam is a trade route and dates back to between 3500 and 1540 BC, it is also the largest city to exist in the region with thick walls which featured gates, watchtowers, roadways and bulwarks.

The team of researchers led by Steven Collins from Trinity Southwestern University in New Mexico (United States of America) said, “What we’ve got on our hands is an important city-state, major city-state that was, for all practical purposes, unknown to scholars before we started our project.”

Pestles and pottery fragments were found at the site which is said to be in the south of the Jordan River Valley.  The area was abandoned for 700 years, after which it was repopulated with evidence of artefacts and remains of an Iron Age settlement.

On the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (two cities popular for their wicked acts of sin) in the Old Testament of the Bible with fire and brimstone by God only Lot, Abraham’s nephew was spared then.
