The attempted murder case filed by famous broadcaster cum Master of Ceremonies(MC), Olusoji Omotayo, otherwise known as SOJ against his hitherto bosom friend and client, Kunle Kushimo, popularly called Agarawu, which is currently before a Magistrate Court in Ota, Ogun state, has been adjourned to February 26,2016.

A reliable source told ENCOMIUM Weekly that the reason for the adjournment was due to the unavoidable absence of the magistrate handling the case as a result of the death of her husband during the period the case was supposed to be heard.

“SOJ’s case against Agarawu has been adjourned to February 26, 2016.The case which was formerly fixed for Monday, December 14, 2015 couldn’t be heard again. I learnt the husband of the magistrate in charge died then. So, there was no option than to shift the date for the hearing of the petition. That’s why a new date was fixed and that’s February 26, 2016.

“But the way things are going now, I am not sure of SOJ getting justice because of the calibre of people involved and all the controversies surrounding the case. If I were him, I will just forget about the case and move ahead.”

Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Saturday, January 16, 2016, on the development, Baaroyin Apede Ara as Omotayo is fondly addressed confirmed to us that the case has been adjourned to February 26, 2016. He added that his confidence in the judiciary is still intact.

“It’s true the case has been adjourned to February 26, 2016. The court couldn’t sit the last time because of the death of the husband of the magistrate in charge of the case. So, the adjournment was inevitable, and which was understandable. I was even asked to pick a new date that would be convenient for me, with the consent of my lawyer and Agarawu’s lawyer, and I picked February 26, 2016.

“I don’t want to talk any more on the matter so far it’s still in court. Besides, I am very busy at the moment because of preparations for my Valentine Ball scheduled to hold on February 12.It’s an initiative of SOJ Productions in conjunction with DAAR Communications. The event will hold at the premises of Daar Communications and it will feature A-list music stars, including Obesere, Adekunle Gold, Saint Janet, amongst others. So, I am forging ahead.

“Then after the hearing on February 26, I will be jetting to the US to put finishing touches to the video of my wife’s musical where I will spend a few weeks before returning to Nigeria. So, you can understand now that I have a lot of work to do rather than allow any other thing to occupy my time.”

Asked on his likelihood of getting justice at the end of it all on account of all the logjams surrounding the case, he stated confidently, “I strongly believe all hope is not lost as far as the case is concerned. I still maintain my confidence in the judiciary. And I can assure you, justice will be done in this matter”

On Sunday,August 23,2015,Omotayo visited Agarawu in his Ota, Ogun state residence on invitation by the latter. But allegedly,Agarawu machetted SOJ, accusing him of sleeping with his wife. The matter was reported at Onipanu police station, Lagos where Agarawu was later arrested and detained. But surprisingly, he was granted bail same day.

The case was transferred to the state Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, Ogun state where he was later charged to Magistrate Court, Ota, Ogun state.
