‘Some of the promises have not been actualized’ – Ayodele Dada,UNILAG’s best graduating student

Best graduating student of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Ayodele Dada, who made history by graduating with an amazing 5.0 OGPA had a chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, where he spoke about more job offers that have been coming his way. He stated it point blank that the monies promised him are yet to be actualized and more…

Have there been more employment coming your way?

I am still considering the options because there are quite a number of options and definitely, I have interest in studying more. So, I am trying to be careful with the decisions I make now.

Have you moved into your new house?

I don’t have a new house. I think some of the things we heard were exaggerated or are yet to be conclusive. When I saw some of the things, I began to wonder when they will materialize. I don’t have a new house yet.

All the money you were promised, have they finally come or they are still in progress?

I have been told that I should expect that, but I know that the paper work takes some time.

How soon are you going for your masters degree?

As soon as things shape up. There are several things I have to do. I have to write some exams and also get some of my transcripts, and all of that. So, as soon as I am sure that the process has begun and I have concluded it, then I will want to pursue it.

Are you looking at this year?

I wouldn’t want to mention a timeline yet. There are some things that are yet to mature. So, it will not be advisable if I pick a timeline.

Are you going back to UNILAG or you are going outside the country for your masters?

That is also one of the things that I am trying to be very discrete about. There has not been any conclusion about it yet but I have not closed any door.

More job offers have been coming your way, how many of these goodies have you received presently?

At the moment, I have not gotten additional offers. Now, I have an internship going on for some time now.

How did you feel being honoured at the National Assembly?

I really appreciate the honour. I never thought I will have such experience. I also want to appreciate Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila for making it possible. It was a very good gesture and I really appreciate it. I also want to thank the members of the House who were part of the gesture.

Were you given money or any form of gift as appreciation?

No, it was just all about the honour and the recognition. It was just the recognition that was the theme of the event.

What is your relationship with Honorable Femi Gbajabiamila?

I live within his constituency. So, he is like my representative in the House. My first interaction with him was just a couple of weeks ago. It was very great. He is a very kind and wonderful person. He tries to relate even with the lowest person around and he gives inspirational talks, I respect him a lot.
