Songstress Aramide explains what gave her Headies Award

Afro soul/jazz singer Aramide who won an award for the best vocal performance at The Headies is signed to Baseline Entertainment alongside, Skales, Seaon and other artistes.  In an interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly, the Ibadan born songstress spoke about her award at The Headies and more.

How does it feel winning the Best Vocal Performance of the Year (Female) at The Headies?

It feels very good and it’s an encouragement for me as an artiste. I am really excited about it. I will keep working hard at my craft and hopefully, more recognition comes along the way.

What do you think gave you the edge?

I can’t really say because the other nominees are also hard working and excellent vocalists as well. But it’s probably because I recorded Iwo Nikan as if it were a live performance, thanks to special directions from my producer, Olaitan Dada.

What is your review of 2015?

2015 was a great year for me. I was more visible and consistent. I dropped three singles and three videos. I got an award and many nominations as well. I performed more and got great and encouraging reviews. My team is very dedicated and we always follow through every plan.

What are your plans for 2016, career wise?

My fans should expect an album and singles off the album as well as videos, more visibility and consistency from me.

How do you intend to achieve your plans?

By making sure I follow through every plan and take advantage of opportunities and also work hard as always

What new thing are you adding to your career to make a difference?

Exploring more musically, and in performance too and also being more confident.
