Sound Sultan, Victor Ikpeba and others add glamour to Copa Lagos Day 2

The second day of Pepsi COPA Lagos was unarguably more exciting than the first as it featured more glitz, glamour, energy and excitement.

It was a come-back story for the Super Sand Eagles of Nigeria as they defeated England 8-6 after a highly competitive game that saw the fans cheering and rooting for the host nation. After losing to Cote D’Ivoire on opening day 3 – 6, the Eagles turned the tables and refused to remain losers by brushing off the hard fighting English team.

Nigeria’s West African neighbours and defending champs Cote D’Ivoire lost to Lebanon by 4 goals to 5, while the FC Barcelona team beat NPFL’s Kano Pillars by 8 goals to 3.

Beautiful cheerleaders were on hand to encourage both fans and supporters in between match breaks with entertaining choreography and dance moves, and there was also adequate refreshment courtesy of Pepsi and food vendors serving varieties of delicious meals.

The novelty match of ex-Super Eagles Internationals Versus celebrities featured crowd favourites like Sound Sultan, Mutiu Adepoju and Victor Ikpeba, Shina Rambo, Koye Kekere- Ekun (K10), Mozez Praiz and others. Many thought it was Peter Rufai who was goalkeeping, but it was actually Fred Amata.

The day’s event was wrapped up with the COPA Lagos Fashion Show, as designers such as Tzar, Ejiro Amos-Tafarii, Andrea Nyamah, House of Okun and Iconic Invanity rocked the runway with colourful swimsuits and beach wear.

Today, Sunday marks the final day of 2015 Copa Lagos at Eko Atlantic and is expected to be the biggest and most entertaining so far. Highlights of the day includes the match between FC Barcelona and Pepsi Football Academy, as well as several other side attractions and celebrity appearances.
