South-South: EKAETTE UNOMA AKPABIO LOSES AIDE, ELSIE MICHAEL

How does one describe the mood of ‘Mother Teresa’ of Akwa Ibom State right now? I mean the wife of the executive governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio. She has lost one of her aides. And this is very authoritative. We learnt the first lady lost the aide, Elsie Michael, to a certain Garden City of Port Harcourt-based millionaire businessman and happening dude, Odudu Dickson Francis through marriage.
The traditional marriage of the soon-to-be couple is slated for Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Community Secondary School, Paul Ekpeowo Street (Off Ekpri Nsukara), Ibiaku Offot, Uyo while the wedding proper will hold at Living Faith Church, Ikot Ebido Oku, Uyo on Saturday, May 10, 2014 by 10.00am prompt.
According to the wedding invite, the reception will be hosted at the prestigious EEMJM Hotels and Suites, Uyo.
And all the friends of the groom and bride-to-be are already battle ready to out-shine each other in what promises to be a fashion show of sort. Meanwhile, the celebrity crowd is busy posting one gist or the other about what goodies the couple will cart home as presents from the AKS first family. In the past, the Akpabios are known to always open their hands, and without looking back unleash their financial muscles and prowess in their resolve to ensure that people that work closely with them leave the altar to start up a new and better life.
And Elsie Michael and Odudu Dickson Francis will not be an exemption, or as their friends are already saying ‘their yam don done, dem no go carry last’.

ADULTERY SCANDAL ROCKS OGOJA CATHOLIC DIOCESE
– PRIEST CAUGHT WITH FAITHFUL’S WIFE
There is fire on the mountain of the Catholic Diocese in Ogoja – the hierarchy of the church is rattled and the members are torn apart because of an adultery mess that is currently rocking the fold. An authoritative source has it that a certain businessman and devout Catholic cum committed member of the diocese, James Okafor caught his wife red-handed in his matrimonial bed with a Catholic priest.
Sources say the priest had always been a regular visitor to the businessman’s home in Igoli, a suburb of Ogoja and his regular visits to the man’s home was adjudged a divine blessing by the man for being singled out by the priest for special prayers and priestly attention.
But two going to three weeks back, the priest as usual visited the Okafors and was received by the unsuspecting Okafor who beckoned unto his wife to offer their visitor drinks and refreshment. After some time, the man took excuse to go attend to his business, Jenny Supermarket situated on the popular Mission Road in Igoli.
We heard as soon as he drove off the secret lovers took to their usual game. But as our fore-fathers used to say ‘nine days are for the thief, but only one for the owner of the farm’; it turned out that Mr. Okafor, in the hurry to drive off had forgotten to take along with him the cash that accrued from the previous day’s sale at the shop, which naturally, was to be lodged in the bank on his way to the supermarket.
And turn back to his house he did. Our source has it when he got to his door, which wasn’t locked from the inside, the priest and his wife were not in the living room. Not that it meant anything or aroused his curiosity since he had never had reasons to suspect the wife nor would have ever doubted his reverence for the priest’s relationship to his family. How wrong he was. The two love-birds, caring less about the worries of this world, were doing their thing; the priest on top of the woman and right on the Okafor’s matrimonial bed.
The man screamed, cried, blew hot and cold air, but the woman without any iota of remorse went wild, even threatening to expose the hubby if he further made a scene of his discovery.
The source continued that same day when the hierarchy of the church headed by Most Rev. Aya, the Bishop of the Diocese learnt of the scandal, it immediately convened an emergency meeting. At the end of the one-agendum deliberation, it was resolved and instantly acted upon to transfer the priest to Ugep, which is still a Parish under Ogoja Diocese.
As we speak, the centre no longer holds for the parishioners or the followership. Certain matters are being discussed in hush-hush tones, the Easter celebration was the most lack-lustre in the history of the diocese. And for the Okafors, since the man took his wife to his hometown in Anambra State, apparently to formally lay the report and possibly consult on the way forward, they are yet to come back to their once-upon-a-time peaceful and love-filled home, but the doors of the man’s business concern, the super-market was never shut for a minute since the scandal rocked their private life.

HIGH SOCIETY GATHERS AS ALAMS BURIES NONAGENARIAN FATHER
Last weekend, the oil-rich but water-logged city of Amassoma in Bayelsa State was lit up after what seem like an eternity. Their son, Chief Dipreye Solomon Peter Alamieyeseigha, the former governor of the state, led his coterie of family members, friends, political and business associates among other dignitaries spanning all walks of human endeavour to pay last respects and give a befitting burial to his nonagenarian father, Chief Salo Memein Alamieyeseigha.
The carnival-like celebration of life started on Thursday, April 24 and rolled onto Sunday, April 27, 2014.
Mr. President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, led his wife, the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson, and his wife, Dr. (Mrs.) Rachael Dickson and others, while Rev. (Dr.) Uma Ukpai, General Overseer of Uyo-based Uma Ukpai Worldwide Evangelistic Mission led the notable men of God that prayed for the family,  President Jonathan and Nigeria.
Born on March 16, 1921, the late Chief Salo Memein Alamieyeseigha coincidentally died on his birthday, 16th of March 2014 at the age of 93. He was survived by two wives, twenty-five children, and one hundred and fifteen grandchildren amongst other relations.
In a tribute, the erstwhile governor, popularly called DSP, and also fondly referred to as the Governor-general of Ijaw (Izon) Nation, said that despite the fact that his father was a stark illiterate, he made sure that all his children had quality education which placed them at positions of authority.
And this is what the president, the man we all fondly call Uncle Jo told the crowd. “Sometimes people ask me why I refer to DSP Alamieyeseigha as my boss, even when I am the president of the country, and I tell them that if DSP Alamieyeseigha didn’t ask me to be his deputy-governor, half of the people in Bayelsa State wouldn’t have known who Goodluck Jonathan is, not to mention Nigeria and the international community. And if not for the deceased, it won’t have been possible”.

ENO JAMES, AKS FEMALE LAWMAKER BEATEN UP AND STRIPPED
Last weekend for a long time to come will sure bear sour tales in the life of Hon. Eno James, a female councillor in Essien Udim Legislative Council. She was attacked, beaten up and stripped naked at Ikot Onwo, Essien Udim LGA (Governor Godswill Akpabio’s LGA) by aides of the LG boss, Hon. Nse Ntuen, who also doubles as the Chairman of AKS chapter of ALGON.
Sources at the scene of the event say the lady who represents the people of Ekpeyong Ward 2 was attacked during a marriage ceremony in the LGA. We learnt that the victim is a strong supporter of Prince Ukpong Akpabio, Governor Akpabio’s nephew and one of his Special Assistants, and for a long time now, had been singing praises for him (the Governor’s aide), even when he was honoured by the PDP sometime ago.
In a private chat that added some flesh to the skeleton of the incidence, the female councillor while confirming whether she was actually beaten up by the council chairman’s aides said “no be small my dear”; and on why she was beaten up and stripped naked, she said there was no reason only that his attackers called her a prostitute.
The aides who were allegedly led by the LG chairman’s cousin cum PA 1, Barr. Augustine Etim, and their boss have been bragging that no Jupiter can question what happened. That he (LG chairman) made Eno James a councillor through the wife of the Governor, Ekaette Unoma Akpabio.
We learnt that at the said event, when the female councillor came to the table where the LG boss was sitting with Commissioners for Agriculture and that of Lands, Mr. Godwin Afangide and Hon. Eno Akpan respectively as well as the member representing Essien Udim State Constituency at the AKS House of Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Akpan, she did not greet him, but instead allegedly made some snide remarks which did not go down well with the chairman’s aides, and this must have been responsible for her being attacked.
