NNEOMA Ikedieze, wife of star actor, Chinedu Ikedieze, MFR, would be launching her fashion label, Nizik, on Sunday, February 16, 2014.  She is also unveiling some of her creative designs at the event holding at the prestigious Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Aki, as the actor is popularly called, gave a tip of what to expect at the launch in an exclusive interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, February 6, 2014.  He also told us how he celebrated his birthday weeks back, while sharing the joys of married life and his voyage in business…

Chinedu-Ikedieze

How did you celebrate your birthday weeks back?

It was fun. I also went to an orphanage to celebrate and share love with them.  Every time we feel we are happy by staging parties, but I don’t think our happiness is complete when we cannot put smiles on the faces of others, especially the less privileged.  So, that was why I went there. I could feel their joy and I was happy as well.

What are you most grateful to God at this age?

First, that I’m alive.  Some whom I started this race with have passed on.  Some we were born together are no more.  And I thank God He has blessed me beyond my expectations.

Incidentally, that period was also your wedding anniversary.  Did you renew your marital vow?

Yes, but I don’t have to wait for a year or two to renew our marital vow (laughs).  We do that almost every day.

So, from all indications, you are enjoying your marriage?

Absolutely, you can see that yourself.

What are your plans for the year?

I don’t want to count my chicken when they have not yet hatched.  What I’m trying to say is that I have my plans but I can only let people know about them when I start executing them.

DSC_0238The year is still fresh and new, are there mistakes you have made in the years past?

Of course, we make mistakes as human beings. I made some mistakes which I have to correct this year.  There are also areas I did very well that I have to continue with.  An Igbo adage says, once you do well, there is a necessity to continue to do more.

What is your New Year resolution?

To get closer to God.

We learnt you are formally launching your wife’s business on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Oriental Hotel, Lagos?

That is true.  My wife, Nneoma is launching her 2014 designs as well as her fashion label, Nikiz’s Fashion.  I’m just there to help her.

What is it going to be like?

She said it is going to be a moderate celebration. People are expected to come and appreciate and of course patronize her.  I’m inviting my friends as she is also doing.  It is going to start quite early, around 5 p.m for red carpet while the event proper should end before nine so people could go home in time and prepare for work the next day.

On your part, it is believed that you are also in business.  You are into oil and gas, real estate, marketing and auto dealership.  Is it true?

My brother, you are not far from the truth.  The fact is that I have streams of income.  Anything that maximizes profit, Chinedu Ikedieze is there.  I’m into merchandising, anything that will fetch me money is cool.  As far as it is genuine business.

Have you added more personal cars to your intimidating garage?

Automobiles are not property.  We just buy them for personal comfort.  I have more important things to invest my money than cars.

What are your expectations this 2014?

I’m expecting the best.  First is life, good health and wisdom. Once I have these, other things will follow.
